Exhibition Science & Culture 2022 at the Royal Palace
Following an absence of two years due to the COVID-19 crisis, Science & Culture at the Palace is back from July 23 to August 28, 2022. To facilitate a smooth flow of visitors during these open days, the exhibition will be in a ‘light’ version proposed by the Palace.
This 15th edition, presented by BELSPO is entitled ‘Belgian Science Policy: Ensuring the Future’, a theme that will valorise the way in which the department and the 10 Federal Scientific Institutes (FSIs) are preparing themselves for the future, by reaffirming themselves as essential players in research and the related applications.
Each of the partners will present a work of art, a symbolic object, a scientific instrument or a model that will valorise them. A selection of photos illustrating the mission of each institution will complement their presentation and provide a representative image to the public, while raising awareness of the importance of the Belgian Science Policy at the national and international level.
In particular, the public will discover a maquette of the GRASS instrument of the Royal Observatory of Belgium, which will be part of the future ESA Hera mission (launch schedule in 2024). GRASS will analyse the gravity field of Dimorphos, allowing us to better understand its internal structure and to find a strategy to deflect asteroids.
The exhibition is free and under registration via https://www.koninklijk-paleis-palais-royal.be/en. Do not hesitate to come!
